"Designa Vagina", Designer Vagina, Vulvoplasty and Labial Trimming:
Many women are unhappy or
embarrassed about their Vulva (the "lips") at the opening of the vagina.
These can now be improved
surgically, often under a local anaesthetic. This procedure is called a
Vulvoplasty - which means reshaping of the Vulva.
However, the better known
names for a vulvoplasty are - the "designer vagina" or labial trimming.
At Absolute Aesthetics, we
have a very experienced Female Gynaecologist who performs the Vulvoplasty
procedure under local anaesthetic.
This website explains a
little about why vulvoplasty or labial trimming might be needed and how to go
about booking an appointment discreetly.
Development of the Vulva - the Labial "lips" - Labia
majora and minora:
When girls first reach
puberty, the sex hormones (oestrogen and progesterone) make the vagina and the
labia enlarge.
The vagina becomes deeper,
preparing for sexual intercourse. The vulva also develop, enlarging and becoming
softer and more cushioned, filling up with fat and connective tissue.
There are two different pairs of labial "lips" that make up the vulva.
The outer pair, called the "labia majora" or outer labial lips, are the folds of
skin which usually have pubic hair growing from them.
The inner pair, called the "labia minora" or inner labial lips, are the mucosal
folds (or moist pink lips) inside of these just before the entrance of the
vagina.
When young women women have finished going through puberty, and before they have
children, the labia majora and labia minora are usually in line with the curves
from the lower abdomen round underneath towards the anus and bottom at the back.
Therefore when wearing knickers or bikini bottoms, there is usually no
embarrassment from abnormal bulges or outline.
